Regulations for walking / hiking tours

What to put in the backpack

It’s necessary to be properly equipped for an excursion in a natural environment.

  • Bring proper clothing – several lightweight layers that can be easily put on and removed, as well as protective raingear.
  • Proper walking or hiking boots are essential to a safe walking experience: footwear must fit well and also contain sufficient support and tread. No sneakers or tennis shoes, thanks.
  • In your daypack cannot miss: water bottle (1 lt. at least), personal medicines, raingear and a snack. It is also advisable to have with you an extra lightweight base layer (in case of perspiration or wet weather), sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, insect repellent.
  • In some cases, trekking poles can be a valid support.

You don’t need a first aid kit, I always carry it and I have a CPR certification that meets the International Guidelines. However, it is important that you have your personal medicines with you, if you use them. Always inform the guide if you have any health problems (particularly heart disease, allergies, diabetes or recent operations on the lower limbs).

If necessary, we will inform the participants about any other specific equipment requested for a particular excursion.

What to put...in the head!

Maximum punctuality is required at the start of the excursion, in compliance with logistics, timing and all participants.

The duration of the excursion may vary depending on the  participants’ fittness level, the weather conditions, etc. Some flexibility is therefore required.

It is advisable to turn off the mobile phone (or, at the most, to keep the ringtone very low) during the excursion, so as not to disturb others and to fully enjoy the nature that surrounds us.

Do not abandon waste. Any waste will be placed in the backpack and returned to our homes.

Do not cause any damage to the environment: the collection of fruits, plants or flowers is often regulated by the competent authorities and must be avoided in respect of ecosystems and in order to avoid potential allergic reactions or intoxications.

The Guide can...

If it deems it necessary, the Guide reserves the right to:

  • exclude from the excursion those who are not deemed suitable to carry out the proposed activity for reasons of equipment or physical conditions;
  • modify the program and/or the itinerary of the tour (even substantially and in the vicinity of the departure) without notice and at any time if the safety and well-being of even one of the participants is at risk due to weather conditions, environmental or force majeure;
  • decide – for the same reasons as above – for early return, without this causing any dispute on the part of the participants;
  • cancel the tour – even with very short notice – in case the weather, environmental or force majeure conditions do not allow it to be carried out safely;
  • exclude non-booked people from the excursion.

The Guide is relieved of any responsibility for any accidents or injuries that may occur if one or more members of the group voluntarily leave the group or the path without the prior authorization of the Guide.

In all the above circumstances, the Guide will not be required to pay the participant any reimbursement.

Children

Minors can participate only if accompanied by a parent or whoever exercises the parental authority. The latter undertakes – by proceeding with the registration – to ensure that the minor respects the shared rules. Always ask, before registering, if the scheduled activity is suitable for children or not.

Dogs

Dogs are allowed, as long as they are on a leash and only with the authorization of the Guide. The guide is never responsible for damage to things or people caused by the animal but the owners of the animal will be held responsible.
